Welcome to Bilingualizer.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bilingualizer application (“App”, “Service”), provided by Ondřej Macoszek (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. About Bilingualizer

Bilingualizer is a language-learning application designed to help users discover, capture, review, and practice vocabulary and phrases from real-world content.

The App may include features such as:

Camera-based text capture
Photo-library text capture
Manual text entry
Speech recognition
Text recognition and OCR
Text-to-speech
Translation
Vocabulary and phrase storage
Topics and lists
Vocabulary review and practice
Built-in learning packs

Features may be added, modified, or removed over time.

2. Eligibility

You may use the App only in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

If you are under the age required to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you should use the App with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Educational Purpose

Bilingualizer is provided for educational and language-learning purposes only.

The App is intended to support language exposure, vocabulary acquisition, and learning through practice. We do not guarantee:

language proficiency,
exam success,
translation accuracy,
speech recognition accuracy,
completeness of learning content,
uninterrupted availability of the App.

Learning outcomes depend on many factors, including the user’s effort, experience, and learning environment.

4. Children

Some content may be beginner-friendly. Children should use the App with the supervision of a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. User Content

You may use the App to capture, store, review, archive, and organize words, phrases, text, topics, lists, and other learning materials.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with applicable laws and respects the rights of others.

You agree not to use the App:

for unlawful purposes,
to infringe intellectual property rights,
to distribute harmful or malicious content,
to interfere with the operation of the App,
to attempt unauthorized access to systems, networks, or services.

6. Translation, Speech, and Text Recognition Features

Some features of the App may rely on technologies provided by Apple or other third-party providers, including:

speech recognition,
text-to-speech,
translation,
text recognition and OCR.

Depending on your device, operating system version, language, and settings, some processing may occur locally on your device while other processing may be handled by third-party services.

We do not control the operation, availability, or accuracy of third-party services and cannot guarantee their performance.

Translations, speech recognition results, and text recognition results may contain mistakes and should be reviewed by the user.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, graphics, learning content, phrase packs, text, audio, and other materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

copy,
reproduce,
distribute,
modify,
reverse engineer,
resell,
create derivative works from

the App or its content except where permitted by applicable law.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or technologies.

Examples may include:

Apple services,
App Store services,
websites referenced within learning materials.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, availability, or operation of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Availability and Updates

We may update, improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time.

While we aim to provide a reliable service, we do not guarantee that the App will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or software version.

You are responsible for keeping your device and operating system reasonably up to date.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

use of the App,
inability to use the App,
loss of data,
translation errors,
speech recognition errors,
text recognition inaccuracies,
interruptions or failures of the App,
reliance on information provided by the App.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

11. Disclaimer

The App is provided on an “as available” basis.

We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

accuracy,
reliability,
availability,
fitness for a particular purpose,
uninterrupted operation,
error-free performance.

Although we strive to provide useful and accurate language-learning tools, we cannot guarantee that all content, translations, speech results, or text recognition results will always be correct or suitable for every situation.

12. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

Please review the Privacy Policy to understand how information is handled when using the App.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The most current version will be made available within the App or on our website.

By continuing to use the App after updated Terms become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic and applicable laws of the European Union.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Czech Republic, unless applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
